The celebration of the Hindu Saka New Year on Thursday went smoothly and safely, a senior official said.
"I've received a report from the officer in charge of the city's call center and I contacted several relevant agencies to inquire about Nyepi and the overall conclusion is that we have had a safe and peaceful Nyepi this year," Denpasar administration's spokesperson Erwin Suryadharma said Friday.
The city's call center is responsible for receiving and managing emergency calls from members of the public and for alerting the relevant agencies in emergency situations.
"The call center received several calls during Nyepi and all of them involved minor incidents, including one about a street light in Renon that wasn't switched off during Nyepi," he added
